Authorities in central Thua Thien-Hue province have issued a plan to improve its governance and public administration performance in 2023.
The plan will focus on measures to enhance public access to information relating to laws and policies to ensure transparency, promote administrative reform, and emphasized the responsibility of public cadres in instructing, receiving, and resolving administrative dossiers.
Cadres who fail to settle dossiers on time or who trouble individuals, organizations, and enterprises will be strictly punished.
The province has been ranked one of the best performers in the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) over recent years, placing fifth in 2022.
The PAPI measures eight dimensions: participation at local levels, transparency, vertical accountability, control of corruption, public administrative procedures, public service delivery, environmental governance, and e-government.
