Central Thua Thien-Hue province welcomed 393,000 tourists in July, up 31.1% year-on-year.
The figure brings the total number of tourists visiting the province in the first seven months of the year to over 2.34 million, a year-on-year rise of 25.5%.
Of which, there were 862,000 foreign tourists, representing an impressive growth of 42.2% year-on-year.
Total tourism revenue in Jan-July period was estimated at more than VND4.78 trillion ($188 million), soaring 12.5% year-on-year.
The province also registered growth in many other economic indicators during the seven-month period.
Total retail sales of consumer goods and services reached VND32.2 trillion ($1.26 billion), up 13.4% against the same period last year.
Total export revenue amounted to $662.8 million, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%.
The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 3.2% year-on-year.
The province licensed 29 new projects so far this year, including 11 FDI projects with a total registered capital of $34.5 million.
