National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has visited the construction sites of a number of key projects in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

Projects include Component Project No. 3 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway in Phu My township and the Southern Petrochemical Complex Project.

The first phase of the expressway, with total investment capital of over VND17 trillion ($698.5 million), passes through Ba Ria-Vung Tau and neighboring Dong Nai provinces.

It has a length of 53.7 km and is divided into three component projects.

NA Chairman Hue noted that this is a key national transport project and is expected for completion by 2026, to help connect localities in the region with the Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water seaport and Long Thanh International Airport.

The Southern Petrochemical Complex Project has received investment of more than $5.1 billion from the Siam Cement Group (SCG) - one of the leading industrial firms in Thailand and the parent of Long Son Petrochemicals (LSP).

Construction began in February 2018 and has been completed, with the complex now undergoing a test run. It is expected to be put into commercial operation in March.
