According to the MOU with Copenhagen Airport, the operator of Copenhagen Airport, both parties will collaborate to explore market development opportunities and enhance operational efficiency.

At the Vietnam-Denmark Business Forum, held in Copenhagen on October 20 (local time) as part of the State visit to Denmark by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam,  Vietnam Airlines exchanged MOUs with Copenhagen Airport, SAS, and DI.

According to the MOU with Copenhagen Airport, the operator of Copenhagen Airport, both parties will collaborate to explore market development opportunities and enhance operational efficiency. The possibility of opening additional direct routes or increasing existing frequency will be considered based on passenger demand and commercial viability.

Copenhagen Airport is one of the major aviation hubs in Northern Europe. Cooperation with this entity is one of the ways for Vietnam Airlines to explore the potential for developing international flight networks and accessing markets in the region.

Since December 2025, Vietnam Airlines has operated a direct route from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen with a frequency of three flights per week using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. With a flight time of over 12 hours, this route helps shorten the journey between Vietnam and Denmark, serving travel, tourism, and trade needs.

With Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS), the cooperation includes code-sharing flights, frequent flyer programs, cargo transportation, new distribution systems, and corporate customers. The two airlines also plan to share market information, seek business opportunities, and expand travel options between Vietnam and Northern Europe.

In addition to aviation partners, Vietnam Airlines signed an MOU with DI, the largest organization representing businesses and employers in Denmark, with a network of members active in various economic sectors.

According to the agreement, both parties will enhance information exchange, seek business opportunities, and promote connections between Vietnam Airlines and the Danish business community. They will also consider the possibility of Vietnam Airlines becoming a member of DI.

Connecting the flight network with the business network is expected to help Vietnam Airlines better meet the travel needs of business travelers, while also opening up more cooperation opportunities in aviation, tourism, and trade between the two countries.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, shared: "As Vietnam's national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines has the responsibility to pave the way for trade, tourism, and international cooperation. The agreements in Copenhagen concretize the country's proactive and positive international integration policy, linking aviation connectivity with markets and businesses. Based on the direct route from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen, we and our partners are developing the Northern European market, contributing to deepening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the region."

Within the framework of the Forum, Vietnam Airlines also showcased its brand image, flight network, service products, international awards, and frequent flyer programs at the exhibition area, thereby providing information about the airline to the Danish business community.

The MOUs signed in Copenhagen focus on two main cooperation directions: developing aviation connectivity with regional partners and expanding relations with the Danish business community.
