Key priorities including refining energy policies, scaling up renewable energy and improving energy efficiency.

Vietnam and Germany have signed a Joint Declaration to establish an Energy Partnership.

The declaration was signed between Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long and Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Stefan Rouenhoff in Berlin on July 3.

Key priorities include refining energy policies; scaling up renewable energy such as offshore wind, solar power, and green hydrogen; digitalizing the power sector, improving energy efficiency, modernizing power grids and supporting decarburization in industries resistant to emissions cuts.

The declaration is expected to lay frameworks to accelerate Vietnam’s energy transition, targeting carbon neutrality, enhanced energy security, and expanded business ties.
