For the first time, a Vietnamese enterprise has earned over $1 billion from digital solutions and software services abroad, the Ministry of Information and Communications has said.
The total revenue of Vietnam’s information and communications technology (ICT) businesses in foreign markets has reached more than $2.2 billion.
The ICT industry’s revenue and GDP contribution are estimated at $148 billion and some $34.33 billion, respectively, in 2022, year-on-year increases of 8.7 per cent in both.
Results demonstrate that the country’s ICT industry revenue has maintained steady growth, from nearly $103 billion in 2018 to $124.67 billion in 2020 and $136.15 billion in 2021.
Vietnam is projected to earn $136 billion from the export of electronics and hardware products in 2022, up 11.6 per cent against 2021.
The number of digital enterprises registered for operations is expected to reach 70,000 for the year, equal to the target and up 9.6 per cent year-on-year.
