The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria, in collaboration with the Bab Ezzouar Commercial Centre in Algeria, hosted an event on February 22 to showcase Vietnamese products to North African consumers, according to a report from the Vietnam News Agency.
The event attracted a large number of visitors, including local residents and representatives from various Algerian import businesses.
As part of the embassy’s annual trade promotion activities, Algerian consumers had a chance to explore Vietnamese coffee, attend presentations on coffee processing methods, and sample the products on-site.
Le Ngoc Khanh Linh, an economic diplomacy officer at the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria, said the embassy plans to adopt a more targeted approach, focusing on major importers and industry associations in Algeria.
Local customers who tried the Vietnamese products offered positive feedback, praising their taste and quality. A representative from a local business expressed interest in attending more similar events to learn about Vietnamese products and strengthen bilateral trade ties.
Algeria is considered a promising market for several of Vietnam’s key exports, including coffee, tea, pepper, cashew nuts, spices, tra, and basa (pangasius) fish fillets. Among these, coffee is the most popular in Algeria, with an annual import volume of approximately 130,000 tons of coffee beans.
