The Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore reported that Vietnam's rice export turnover to Singapore has seen sustainable growth in recent years.
According to statistics from Enterprise Singapore, Vietnam is currently the third largest rice supplier to Singapore, after India and Thailand. Notably, in the first six months of 2024, Vietnam was once the largest rice exporter to the Singaporean market. This demonstrates Vietnam's supply potential and the quality of Vietnamese rice which meets Singapore's demanding needs and strict standards.
Looking ahead, as the world faces many fluctuations affecting the economy, global food security could present an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to boost exports. Vietnamese businesses need to focus on product promotion activities, improving quality and designs, as well as leveraging Singapore's role as a transit hub to export to other countries.
