Vietnam has set a target of earning annual revenue of over $30 billion from food and foodstuff exports by 2030.
This is part of targets set by the national action plan on building a transparent, responsible, and sustainable food and foodstuff network to 2030, which was issued recently.
More than half of enterprises involved in agriculture, forestry, and fishery product value chains will be connected to the national traceability portal.
The value of food and foodstuff produced under Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) or equivalent is to be above 30 per cent.
The plan also sets a target of increasing the rate of processed agricultural product value to over 50 per cent of the total value of production and processing of agriculture, forestry, and fishery products.
It aims to renovate the food and foodstuff network, from production and processing to distribution and sale in a transparent, responsible, and sustainable manner, based on each locality’s advantages, ensuring food security and national nutrition and improving the incomes and living conditions of the people.
