Vietnam has set a target of becoming one of the top 10 Asian countries in terms of biotech production and services by 2030.
This is one of the goals set in a Resolution signed recently by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on the development and application of biotechnology for sustainable development.
The sector is expected to contribute 7 per cent of GDP by 2030 and 10-15 per cent by 2045.
By 2045, Vietnam is expected to have a developed bio-tech sector and be one of the leading hubs in smart production and services and bio-tech startup and innovation in Asia.
