The on-time performance (OTP) rate of Vietnamese airlines reached 69.3% in June, lower than the 79.98% rate in the same period last year, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
Bamboo Airways posted the best OTP of 88.3%.
The rate of VASCO was 83.5%, Vietnam Airlines 83%, Pacific Airlines 81.3%, Vietravel 77.1%, and VietJet 52.8%.
The aviation market has faced a serious shortage of planes while plane renting prices kept increasing, according to the CAAV. The number of aircrafts dropped 20% year-on-year by the end of June.
The CAAV has asked domestic airlines to proactively work with foreign partners to hire aircrafts to increase transport capacity.
