Vietnam exported nearly 1.7 million tons of coffee in the first eight months of 2026, earning more than $6 billion, according to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa).
Export volume rose by more than 10% year-on-year, but its value fell 11.2% as average export prices declined.
Robusta remained the dominant product, accounting for 73.3% of total coffee export value. In the first seven months of 2026, Vietnam shipped nearly 1.01 million tons of Robusta worth $4 billion, up 11.4% in volume but down 15.4% in value due to lower selling prices.
Processed coffee accounted for 19.5% of the total export value, reaching $1.06 billion, up 4.3% year-on-year, indicating growing demand for higher-value processed products.
Arabica exports totalled 58,500 tons, worth $387.7 million, representing 7.1% of the total export value, with both volume and value declining slightly. Excelsa coffee, although accounting for a small share, recorded strong growth, with export value rising more than 44% to $4.3 million.
Vicofa expects coffee export volume to increase 8-10% in 2026, supported by supplies from the new crop beginning in November.
