Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has decided to cancel the “Construction and equipment installation for the passenger terminal” bid package at Long Thanh International Airport, worth more than VND35.23 trillion ($1.5 billion).

The package has the largest value among all construction packages for the passenger terminal in the first phase of construction of the Long Thanh International Airport in southern Dong Nai province.

It includes the design of construction drawings, construction, and equipment installation for the passenger terminal.

The package was announced publicly for international bidding, not via the internet and without prequalification. The time to lodge bidding documents was from the end of September to the end of November.

However, no bidding dossiers met the requirements of the bidding documents, resulting in the cancellation.

The ACV has asked that dossiers are returned to contractors and has said it will organize rebidding for the package.

The Long Thanh International Airport project, located some 40 km from Ho Chi Minh City, will cover around 5,000 ha of land and was designed to have an annual capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo.

Total investment has been estimated at some VND336.63 trillion ($14.2 billion).
