Construction of the second component project, “Flight management works”, at Long Thanh International Airport, with total investment of nearly VND3.5 trillion ($146 million), began sooner than expected on September 29. Main items are the Air Traffic Control Tower and auxiliary works, which are expected to be put into operation in 2025.
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has approved a list of investment projects to build four aircraft maintenance areas at Long Thanh International Airport in southern Dong Nai province, with total investment of more than VND2.7 trillion ($117.2 million) from investor capital.
The southern province of Dong Nai has handed over nearly 200 ha of land to the Southern Airports Authority for implementation of the Long Thanh International Airport project, on a planned area of 5,000 ha. The first phase has acquired 1,500 ha of the 1,800 ha needed.
The Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee has proposed the government provide support of more than VND4 trillion ($175.12 million) to invest in two roads with a total length of more than 100 km connecting to the southern province’s Long Thanh International Airport which is under construction.
