Vietnam recorded total trade revenue of $61.62 billion in October, a year-on-year rise of 5.6 per cent, figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) reveal.
This brought total trade revenue in the first ten months of the year to $557.95 billion, down 9.6 per cent against the same period last year.
Exports totaled $291.28 billion, a year-on-year decline of 7.1 per cent, while imports were $266.67 billion, down 12.3 per cent.
This resulted in Vietnam posting a trade surplus of $24.61 billion in the ten-month period.
Thirty-three products recorded export turnover in excess of $1 billion in the ten months, accounting for 92.9 per cent of the country’s total, while seven posted revenue of $10 billion or more, representing 66.2 per cent of the total.
The US remained Vietnam’s largest export market, with total turnover of $78.6 billion, while China was its largest import source, with $89.8 billion.
