A new bridge, replacing deteriorating 50-year Rach Dia bridge connecting District 7 and Nha Be District in Ho Chi Minh City, opened to traffic last week.
Construction of the new bridge, which is 318 m long and 10 m wide, started in July, 2023 with an estimated investment capital of VND512 billion ($20.2 million).
The opening of the bridge took place one month ahead of schedule.
Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Director of the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, said the opening of the new Rach Dia bridge will shorten travel time between District 7 and Nha Be district and help to reduce traffic congestion.
