More than VND157 trillion ($6.63 billion) in public investment capital was disbursed in the first five months of 2023, equal to 20.8 per cent of the annual target, figures from the Ministry of Finance show.
Disbursement of domestic capital stood at 22.64 per cent, which is lower than the figure in the same period last year, of 23.53 per cent, while disbursement of foreign capital was estimated at 12.02 per cent, or higher than the 6.26 per cent in the same period last year.
The ministry reported that eight ministries and 23 localities recorded disbursement of over 25 per cent, with the Mekong Delta’s Tien Giang province recording 45.89 per cent and nearby Dong Thap 44.28 per cent and Long An 40.06 per cent.
Total public investment allocated for this year stands at a record VND810 trillion ($24 billion).
