Agro-forestry and fisheries production recorded positive growth in the first seven months of the year, according to the latest report from the General Statistics Office (GSO) of Vietnam.
Seafood production was estimated at over 5.22 million tons, a year-on-year rise of 2.6%. Of which, there were over 3.76 million tons of fish and 699,000 tons of shrimp.
In July alone, the country harvested more than 490,700 tons of aquatic products from aquaculture while exploited seafood output is estimated at some 686,600 tons.
Total paddy rice cultivated area this year, as of mid-July, stood at more than 1.9 million ha, equivalent to 99.6% of the same period last year.
Regarding forestry, the whole country planted 143,400 ha of forest, a year-on-year growth of 4.6%. Wood exploitation output reached over 11.9 million cu m, up 7.1% year-on-year.
