Revenue from information and communications technology (ICT) services reached $72.9 billion in the first seven months of 2023, down 7.1 per cent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Turnover from hardware and electronic exports was $67.7 billion, a year-on-year decline of 7 per cent.
Export value of hardware and electronic products was estimated at nearly $61 billion, down 10.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show that shipments of computers and components during the seven-month period reached over $30 billion, down 8.9 per cent year-on-year.
It said the reduction stemmed from the global economy continuing to face difficulties as a result of recession in many countries while information technology consumption is down, affecting the export of products and services, including information technology products.
