As part of the InnoEx 2026 Business Innovation Forum held in Ho Chi Minh City between August 19-20, Qualcomm Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, announced the five winning startups of the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge (QVIC), with prizes totaling $255,000.
The QVIC program aims to bolster Vietnam’s emerging technology ecosystem by identifying and nurturing innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
These companies are developing products in critical sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), edge computing, 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, smart cities, and automotive technology, while leveraging Qualcomm’s advanced mobile platforms and technologies. Encouraged by the program’s patent filing incentives, QVIC startups have submitted over 101 patent applications to date.
According to the organizers, this year’s finalists showcased creative AI solutions across various fields, including edge computing, IoT, robotics, and healthcare.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh spoke highly of QVIC’s expansion beyond startups to include university research teams and spin-off companies. He emphasized that this approach allows science, technology, and innovation to generate tangible value, transforming research results and ideas into market-ready products and businesses that contribute to Vietnam’s economy.
Mr. ST Liew, Vice President and President of Qualcomm South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand (SEA C ANZ), praised the exceptional quality of this year’s finalists. He noted that their performance reflects the high caliber of Vietnam’s talent pool, its vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, and its rapidly evolving deep-tech ecosystem.
