Agricultural production in April recorded a slight increase despite the difficulties, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
Figures from the GSO show that the country harvested a total of over 748,000 tons of aquatic products last month, a year-on-year rise of 0.7 per cent.
This included 538,000 tons of fish, 101,000 tons of shrimp, and 108,800 tons of other products, up 0.7 per cent, 1.3 per cent, and 0.2 per cent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
The total catch was estimated at 351,000 tons.
As of April 15, the country had cultivated over 2.95 million ha of rice this year, equivalent to 98.6 per cent of the figure in the same period last year.
The total area of trees planted in April was 31,600 ha, a year-on-year increase of 3.4 per cent.
