Anti-dumping investigation initiated on hot-rolled coil imported from China, India

Hot-rolled coil producers from China, India allegedly selling their products at dumping prices to Vietnam.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on hot-rolled coil (HRC) originating from China and India, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam.

The MoIT’s investigation decision, signed on July 26, is based on documents submitted by domestic producers in accordance with the regulations of the Foreign Trade Management Law, accusing HRC producers from India and China of selling their products at dumping prices to Vietnam, causing damage to the domestic manufacturing industry.

During the assessment of the documents, the investigation agency collected opinions from all related sides.

The dumping period of investigation is from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, according to the decision.

Meanwhile, data will be collected from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024 to review loss of the domestic steel production industry.

The investigation is scheduled to last 12 months as regulated.
