Experts from ASEAN member countries shared their experience on developing and exploiting digital platforms to serve the digital government and develop 5G technology to promote connections and economies at a workshop held in northern Quang Ninh province on December 12.

The workshop was part of the Vietnam International Digital Week 2023, being held from December 12-15.

Initiated by Vietnam, the annual workshop focused on the roadmap to launch 5G services in ASEAN, provided updates on technologies, and offered an opportunity for member countries to bolster cooperation in the field.

Participants noted that the successful implementation of 5G technology requires a comprehensive approach and consideration of technical, socio-cultural, and economic factors.

Within the digital week, a series of conferences, seminars, and forums have been and will be held. Participants have shared experience on issues relating to policy planning, development strategies, technology, and human resources, proposed solutions to major challenges, and discussed opportunities in the digital technology era for the ASEAN region and the world.
