The ASEAN Online Sale Day 2023 (AOSD), the biggest online shopping event in Southeast Asia, has officially kicked off at https://onlineasean.com/.
Running from August 8-22, AOSD 2023 will host more than 150 businesses from diverse sectors such as e-commerce, handicrafts, electronics, furniture, fashion, services, tourism, and food services.
Thanks to the joint efforts of relevant agencies responsible for e-commerce in ASEAN countries, especially the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on E-commerce and Digital Economy (ACCED), the event has been organized since 2020 with over 200 e-commerce businesses from ASEAN member countries including Vietnam partaking. Subsequent holdings in 2021 and 2022 attracted about 300 enterprises each year.
The Vietnam E-Commerce Report 2023 recently released by the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam E-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency shows that e-commerce remained one of the bright spots in the country’s digital economic development, with growth of 20 per cent in 2022. B2C retail e-commerce revenue stood at $16.4 billion in 2022 and is expected to increase to $20.5 billion this year.
“Since its inception in 2020, the AOSD has consistently provided a unique opportunity for businesses across the region, regardless of their size, nationality, or location, to offer their goods and services at discounted prices on a single ASEAN dedicated webpage,” said ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn in a welcome speech at a launch ceremony on August 8.
“The platform seamlessly connects various e-commerce and digital marketplaces and channels to reach millions of customers throughout the region.”
