Northern Bac Giang province  hosted a trade promotion conference on May 28, aimed at bolstering the consumption and global reach of its renowned lychee and other key agricultural products, including OCOP-certified goods.

The event served as a vital platform connecting local producers with a diverse array of domestic and international distributors, with a keen focus on elevating lychee, a nationally celebrated specialty, to new heights in global markets.

A representative from Central Retail Vietnam announced the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Bac Giang. This partnership will see Central Retail provide direct support to local businesses, cooperatives, and suppliers, facilitating their integration into its distribution network. Central Retail also pledged to export Bac Giang lychee to Thailand through its established retail system.

Viettel Post Chairman Nguyen Viet Dung committed his company, one of Vietnam’s leading logistics providers, to acting as an "intelligent and flexible bridge". This will ensure the seamless and efficient circulation of lychee and OCOP products from Bac Giang to consumers both domestically and globally.

A representative from Mova Plus (a Linsan Holdings subsidiary) shared that the company has successfully exported nearly 5,000 tons of fresh fruit, including Bac Giang lychee, to discerning European markets such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Czech Republic over the past two years. The business aims to distribute over 20,000 tons of fresh fruit annually by 2030, targeting an estimated $50 million in revenue.

To achieve this, Mova Plus urged local authorities to support initiatives focused on standardizing and enhancing product quality through certifications like GlobalGAP and Organic EU, applying biotechnology for improved productivity and stability, investing in advanced logistics and post-harvest preservation, and expanding national branding efforts, such as a "Vietnam Week in Europe".

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Viet Oanh assured partners of full disclosure regarding production processes, disease control measures, and comprehensive product traceability.

"Bac Giang guarantees that its lychee and agricultural products meet the highest quality standards, fully complying with stringent international market regulations," he said.
