Banking sector leads corporate bond issuances in Q2

Over $3.58 billion raised from corporate bond issuances.

Corporate bond issuances totaling over VND91.2 trillion ($3.58 billion) in the second quarter of this year, marking a significant increase of 138% compared to the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA)

There were four public offerings worth VND2.5 trillion ($98.2 million) and 84 privately placed bond issuances worth more than VND88.7 trillion ($3.48 billion).

The banking sector was the largest issuer with bond value worth over VND68.54 trillion ($2.69 billion), accounting for 75% of the total.

The average bond interest rates stayed at 6.2% annually.

As of the end of the second quarter, outstanding corporate bonds were worth over VND1.17 quadrillion ($45.9 billion).

Meanwhile, in the second quarter, nearly VND67.8 trillion ($2.66 billion) worth of corporate bonds reached maturity.
