Ben Dinh Port, part of central Quang Ngai province’s seaport system, has officially been opened to both domestic and international vessels for cargo handling, passenger transport and related maritime services.
Located in Ly Son Special Zone, the port can accommodate general cargo vessels of up to 2,000 tons at the outer berth, vessels of up to 1,000 tons at the inner berth, and passenger vessels of up to 400 tons, equivalent to around 400 seats, at the access pier.
The port’s opening is expected to provide a major boost to the development of the Ly Son special economic zone, particularly in tourism, by attracting more international visitors to explore the island’s pristine landscapes and the rich coastal culture of Quang Ngai’s fishing communities.
The Quang Ngai Maritime Port Authority has been tasked with carrying out state management functions at the port and is authorized to collect fees in accordance with regulations.
