Amid the rapid expansion of e-commerce and digital platforms, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has officially unveiled its action plan for Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2027.

March 15 is officially recognised as Vietnam's Consumer Rights Day under the 2023 Law on Protection of Consumer Rights.

Under the theme “Responsible Technology - Fair Access - Peace of Mind Consumption,” the initiative aims to foster a secure, transparent digital market that safeguards public interests.

The program addresses three major priorities in today's market.

First, responsible technology requires businesses to ensure personal data protection and transparent information disclosure. Regulatory authorities will step up oversight in cyberspace, while consumers are encouraged to enhance their digital skills for self-protection.

Second, fair access ensures all citizens - including those in remote areas or with limited tech literacy - have equal access to products, information, and legal protection, with vulnerable social groups receiving targeted support.

Third, peace of mind consumption focuses on establishing a trustworthy shopping environment where consumers have the knowledge and tools needed to transact with confidence, free from fraud or unfair practices.

The nationwide campaign will kick off in January 2027, reach its peak during the action month of March, and sustain activities throughout the entire year.

Alongside the national launching ceremony led by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, local authorities nationwide will roll out awareness campaigns across traditional markets, supermarkets, commercial centers, and production facilities, bringing consumer protection principles closer to daily life.
