Cao Bang approves expressway to Lang Son

Total investment in 121-km link in Vietnam’s northern mountains estimated at over $595 million.

Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People’s Committee has given the green light to construction of the first phase of an expressway linking the northern mountainous province with neighboring Lang Son province.

Total investment in the first phase is estimated at over VND14.3 trillion ($595 million).

The Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) Expressway will be built under the public-private-partnership (PPP) mode.

It has a total length of 121 km, including 52 km running through Lang Son province and 69 km through Cao Bang province.

The first phase is 93.35 km. It will have a width of 17 meters and allow a maximum speed of 80kph.

Contractors will be selected in the fourth quarter of this year.

The project is expected to be completed by 2025 and opened to traffic by 2026.
