The People's Council of Quang Ngai province in Vietnam's South Central Region has officially approved the 1/2000 scale zoning plan for the Chau O urban center and its surrounding region, covering approximately 3,795 ha.

The plan outlines a development strategy focused on urban and service growth, strategically linked to the nearby Binh Hoa-Binh Phuoc Industrial Park and the Binh Thanh Industrial-Urban-Service Park.

This area is envisioned as the future administrative and service heart of the broader Binh Son urban area. It will host critical facilities, including the primary political-administrative center, as well as hubs for healthcare, culture, sports, and commerce, serving both Binh Son and the wider Dung Quat Economic Zone.

Furthermore, the plan designates the area as a center for research, high-quality human resource training, and a crucial transportation node for the economic zone.

The approval of the Chau O zoning plan provides a legal foundation for the Provincial People's Committee to authorize more detailed plans and, crucially, to attract investment projects into the Dung Quat Economic Zone, thereby boosting the province's socio-economic development.
