The Dongguan Youcheng Kaiyun (YCK) Shipping Co., Ltd has decided to use the “Hong Run 18” container vessel to ply the route from Humen Port in China to Dinh Vu Port in northern Hai Phong city.

The company will conduct two weekly round-trips along the route.

Last September, the VIMC Dinh Vu Port Joint Stock Company held a ceremony to welcome YCK’s “Dongmeng KuaiHang 1”, with a total capacity of 300 TEUs.

Demand for shipping materials and spare parts for production between China and Vietnam has continued to increase after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The use of the “Hong Run 18”, with capacity of 450 TEU, is expected to meet container transport demand, reduce costs, and improve service quality, according to the Director General of YCK, Wang Jun.

The Statistics Office in Hai Phong has reported that the total volume of cargo transported via the city’s ports in the first two months of 2023 reached 22.54 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.7 per cent.
