PepsiCo Foods Vietnam started construction of its $90-million snack manufacturing plant in northern Ha Nam province on August 3.
The project covers 8 ha in the expanded Dong Van I Industrial Park in Duy Tien town.
It is designed to have an annual production capacity of over 20,000 tons of snacks.
Construction is scheduled to be finished in the third quarter of 2025.
The plant will be powered with rooftop solar panels and biomass systems from local agricultural waste.
Once operational, the plant is expected to create 1,000 jobs in direct and indirect employment in manufacturing, logistics, packaging, and agriculture.
Addressing the ground breaking ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Truong Quoc Huy said the project will contribute to fulfilling the province’s target of becoming a modern industrial locality by 2025.
