A new container shipping route between the northern port city of Hai Phong and Ulsan Port in South Korea has opened.
The first container vessel to set out from Hai Phong, the 17,943-ton Ever Chaste, docked at Ulsan Port on June 15.
According to the Ulsan Port Authority, a new service operator, Evergreen Korea, plans to operate three trips on the route each week.
It predicted the new route would generate annual volumes of about 24,000 TEUs.
Executive Vice President of the Ulsan Port Authority Jeong Sun-yo said it will make every effort to ensure the new route connecting Ulsan Port with Vietnam in particular and Southeast Asia in general operates stably.
