Nearly VND79 trillion ($3.32 billion) worth of corporate bonds were issued in the first seven months of this year, according to the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA).
The banking sector led the market in issuances, with a total value of more than VND28.6 trillion ($1.2 billion), accounting for 36.2 per cent.
It was followed by real estate with over VND26 trillion ($1.09 billion) issued by property companies, accounting for 33 per cent.
More than VND132.6 trillion ($5.57 billion) worth of bonds will mature in the closing five months of the year, according to the VBMA.
The State Treasury also raised VND400 trillion ($16.9 billion) worth of government bonds this year via auctions, fulfilling 52 per cent of the annual target.
