President of the National Assembly of People's Power and President of the Council of State of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández, affirmed Cuba's commitment to creating more favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses, particularly in the Mariel Special Economic Development Zone.
These preferential policies include free agricultural land allocation, labor support, and improved administrative procedures.
He made these remarks at a meeting with the Ho Chi Minh City business community on October 3, during his official visit to Vietnam.
The meeting aimed to share information and open up investment opportunities in Cuba for HCMC enterprises, thereby contributing to the stronger development of the special Vietnam-Cuba relationship in the economic, trade, and investment sectors.
Cuba is a market rich in potential across healthcare, biotechnology, agriculture, consumer goods, and tourism. With its strategic location in the Caribbean region, Cuba can become a gateway for Vietnamese goods to access Latin American markets.
The Cuban leader was quoted by Radio the Voice of Vietnam as saying that "Sincerely from the bottom of our hearts, we thank Vietnamese businesses that have invested in Cuba and for their understanding of our country's current difficulties. We are always ready to listen to all opinions, recommendations, and proposals from businesses to resolve obstacles and accompany them in cooperative projects."
