Da Nang’s investment attraction throughout August and the first eight months of 2026 recorded significant growth in registered capital scale, reported  Radio the Voice of Vietnam.

The radio quoted the Da Nang Statistics Office as reporting that, in August alone, the central city drew nearly $280 million in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)—including newly registered capital, adjusted capital, and capital contributions/share purchases—a nearly 25-fold increase year-on-year.

Specifically, the city licensed 11 new projects (down 8.3%), but total registered capital reached nearly $240 million. Five existing projects adjusted their capital, adding approximately $41 million.

By the end of August, Da Nang had attracted over $680 million in FDI, up nearly 190% year-on-year. Of this total, 100 projects were newly licensed with aggregate registered capital exceeding $520 million. The number of new projects rose by nearly 30%, while registered capital surged by more than 250%.

Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, was quoted by the radio as emphasizing that to achieve double-digit growth targets, the city must continue to aggressively attract investment resources.

"An annual growth target of 11% does not allow us to maintain our previous mindset, methods, or governance approaches. We must maximize all available resources and use growth results, investment efficiency, and sustainable urban development as the benchmark for the performance of every agency, unit, official, and civil servant," said Mr. Quang.
