The Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) plans to launch a daily heritage train route between Thua Thien-Hue province and Da Nang city to meet increasing travel demand among tourist while promoting heritage tourism in the central region.
According to VNR, the Hue to Da Nang trip is 102 km in length with 12 train stations.
The number of passengers traveling by train from Hue to Da Nang reached about 74,000 in the first ten months of this year and 79,000 on the return route. Passengers numbers averaged 500 a day.
Ten trains currently pick up and drop off passengers in Hue and Da Nang.
