Representatives from a number of Dutch businesses expressed an interest in projects relating to the protection of coasts, offshore sand exploitation to replace construction materials, transportation, and the construction of liquefied gas ports at the Vietnam - Netherlands Business Dialogue in The Hague on June 26.
The dialogue was organized on the occasion of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha’s visit to the Netherlands, the Government Online Newspaper reported.
Nearly 30 Vietnamese and Dutch enterprises in the fields of seaport infrastructure, maritime services, logistics, renewable energies, and agriculture attended the dialogue, including Van Oord, Royal Vopak, Pondera, Royal Boskalis, and De Heus.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ha introduced Vietnam’s advantages and policies to attract investors.
Vietnam is now implementing digital transformation and green transition and developing a knowledge-based economy and high-tech agriculture, he said, adding that it is also focusing on training human resources, considering talent as a driving force for innovation and development.
The Netherlands is currently the second-largest trade partner of Vietnam in Europe and the largest European investor in the country.
Cooperative fields of priority between the two countries are climate change adaptation, water management, agriculture, energy, the marine economy, and logistics services.
The Deputy Prime Minister called on Dutch investors with extensive experience, scientific and technological advances, and financial potential to increase their investment in Vietnam.
