Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc has asked the General Department of Taxation and local tax departments nationwide to tighten management over the issuance and use of e-invoices.
The General Department of Taxations began to implement e-invoices from July 1, 2022. All enterprises, business households, and individuals must now use e-invoices instead of paper invoices.
The measure has helped save costs for issuance and storage and created favorable conditions for reviewing and examining tax declarations and refunds, thus improving tax management efficiency.
However, some individuals and organizations have recently been found to have taken advantage of the issuance of e-invoices to make illegal profits, including issuing fake invoices, according to the Ministry of Finance.
It asked relevant agencies to increase supervision and inspections to determine violations and prevent tax losses and to strictly punish violations.
The General Department of Taxation reported that tax agencies had received and dealt with over 3.3 billion invoices as of March 15.
More than 10,000 enterprises and business households and individuals have registered to issue e-invoices from cash registers.
