First-ever direct air route connecting Vietnam and Denmark set to open from December

The new route will be exploited by Vietnam Airlines, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen, with three return flights per week.

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will launch the first-ever direct flight between Vietnam and Denmark from December 15 this year, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen.

The carrier will operate three round trips per week on the new route, using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

Flights from Ho Chi Minh City are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, while return flights from Copenhagen are scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The new route is expected to help meet travelling demand between the two regions, with over 70,000 Vietnamese nationals living in Northern Europe.

Vietnam Airlines plan to open and resume operation of 15 international air routes to key markets such as Italy, Russia, China, UAE, Japan, South Korea and India in 2025.

Vietnam targets to welcome 22-23 million international tourists this year.
