Businesses from Hanoi and 16 cities and provinces nationwide are showcasing food and agricultural products at a trade fair that officially opened on January 13 in the capital to serve customers during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the fair is aimed at promoting the consumption of agricultural products by enterprises and cooperatives in the domestic market.
“Agricultural trade promotion is very important,” he said. “The expansion, development, and direct connection between businesses and consumers through trade fairs and seeking stable and high-value agricultural, forestry and fishery consumption markets, including the export market and the domestic market, are always important tasks to help the agricultural sector overcome difficulties and continue to develop sustainably.”
Lasting to January 19, the fair introduces products that meet quality and food hygiene and safety standards.
Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Acting Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized that the fair is a practical activity to ramp up domestic demand and increase the retail sales of goods and services in the capital, while connecting manufacturers across the country with distribution channels in Hanoi.
