FV Hospital, a member of the Thomson Medical Group from Singapore, and Fosun Health from China have officially signed a cooperative MoU to connect the medical capabilities of both sides in the field of oncology, from pre-treatment diagnosis to access to specialized treatment methods in China to post-treatment care and monitoring in Vietnam.
In addition to coordinating patient care, the two sides will also conduct professional activities to exchange knowledge, share clinical experience, update stakeholders on advances in cancer treatment, and organize intensive training programs for medical staff.
“Oncology is a field that requires multidisciplinary
coordination and cooperation between healthcare facilities with complementary
strengths,” said Dr. Jean-Marcel Guillon, CEO of FV Hospital. “Fosun Health has
a platform in China, while FV has a patient care system in Vietnam. We believe
that cooperation between the two sides will help to leverage the strengths of
both in the field of cancer treatment and bring practical benefits to patients.”
“We chose FV Hospital as our partner because it is an international-standard hospital in Vietnam, with the capacity to provide initial diagnostic methods and post-treatment monitoring for Vietnamese patients here,” Mr. Shen Yun, Co-Chairman of Fosun Health, told the signing ceremony. “We can collaborate, and the biggest beneficiaries of this collaboration are the patients.”
Connecting cancer treatment capacity for patients in Vietnam
Fosun Health is one of the leading private healthcare groups in China, owning a network of 19 hospitals and medical facilities with over 6,500 beds and more than 2,300 doctors. In particular, the Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital has secured top spot in the “Top 100 Private Single Hospitals in China” rankings for eight consecutive years. In the field of oncology, the corporation develops methods and technological applications such as da Vinci Robotic Surgery, CAR T-cell Therapy, CyberKnife Radiosurgery, Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), Radioactive Seed Implantation, and Cryotherapy.
For FV’s part, the Hy Vong Cancer Centre provides comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment services, combining surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. Each case is evaluated by a multidisciplinary Tumour Board to develop a personalized treatment plan, based on medical evidence and international guidelines. In addition, FV focuses on controlling side effects, reducing pain, and providing nutritional and psychological support, accompanying patients throughout the treatment process.
Under the agreement, Fosun Health will accompany patients, connecting them with FV to provide necessary paraclinical services before they travel to China for treatment, including diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI), laboratory tests, and biopsies.
After completing their treatment in China and returning to Vietnam, patients will be referred by Fosun Health to FV for further care and monitoring.
In addition to coordinating patient care, the two sides will promote training, academic exchange, sharing of clinical experience, and updating medical staff on advances in cancer treatment through activities such as scientific workshops, health seminars, and symposia.
“FV is honored to cooperate with Fosun Health,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thu, Marketing and Business Development Director at FV Hospital, shared. “Each hospital has different expertise and strengths. The two sides have collaborated to exchange treatment techniques, especially new technologies. As a result, patients have more options to choose from: continue treatment at FV or go to one of the hospitals within the Fosun Health system.”
Emphasizing the significance of cross-border care coordination, Ms. Tan Diep Ai, Director of Fosun Health’s representative office in Vietnam, stated: “This collaboration will create an uninterrupted treatment process, in which FV handles the diagnosis and examination of patients in Vietnam. Hospitals within the Fosun Health system will be responsible for implementing specialized treatment techniques for patients. Upon returning to their home country, the patient wiil continue to be monitored and cared for at FV.”
“A Standard of Medical Excellence” - Foundation for collaborative intensive oncology treatment
The collaboration with Fosun Health in the field of oncology treatment continues FV’s direction of expanding international relations to improve the quality of treatment. FV is the first hospital in the region to achieve HAS quality certification, issued by the French National Health Service since 2007. FV is also the only hospital in Vietnam’s south to have achieved JCI international certification four times in a row, from 2016 to the present.
In 2026, FV Hospital was recognized in the rankings of “Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026” by Newsweek in collaboration with Statista.
In the field of oncology, the Hy Vong Cancer Centre applies advanced techniques such as Total Body Irradiation (TBI), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Brachytherapy. FV has also put into operation the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system and the Philips 3.0 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging machine, and signed an investment contract for the CyberKnife S7 robotic radiosurgery system.
“Oncology is one of FV’s specialties and it development has been focused on since our early days of operation,” Dr. Guillon said. “In 2018, we comprehensively collaborated with HCG - a cancer treatment system with 28 centers in India - to develop the Hy Vong Cancer Centre. Today, the collaboration with Fosun Health further demonstrates FV’s commitment to delivering the best value for patients.”
