Authorities of central Ha Tinh province have approved an investment plan for a new road linking a North–South Expressway interchange to key national highways, in a move to enhance regional connectivity and support coastal development.
The project will connect the expressway junction at Km527+580 with National Highway 1 in Cam Xuyen commune and extend to National Highway 15B in Yen Hoa commune, covering a total length of about nearly 8.5 kilometres.
It will run through Cam Xuyen and Yen Hoa communes, forming a strategic east–west transport corridor linking coastal areas such as Yen Hoa, Thien Cam and Dong Tien to the national expressway network.
The route will ultimately feature four lanes. In the initial phase, however, construction will be carried out with a two-lane configuration to align with traffic demand and available funding.
Total investment is estimated at nearly VND700 billion (around $28 million), funded by the central budget under the 2026–2030 medium-term public investment plan, alongside provincial resources.
The project is expected to contribute to completing the regional transport network, facilitating travel and logistics, and creating favourable conditions for tourism development, particularly in coastal areas. It is also seen as a driver for broader socio-economic growth in Ha Tinh province.
