North-central Ha Tinh province recorded positive growth in most key indicators in the first nine months of the year, according to local authorities.

It attracted over VND12.7 trillion ($529 million) worth of FDI, a year-on-year increase of 85.08 per cent.

Total retail sales of consumer goods and services surged 15.22 per cent against the same period last year.

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased 5.60 per cent year-on-year. Electricity generation and distribution was up 11.51 per cent, manufacturing and processing 4.83 per cent, and mining 3.50 per cent.

It recorded export revenue of over $2 billion in the nine-month period, a year-on-year increase of 58.11 per cent. Exports of steel - the key industry in the province - rose 67.19 per cent to over $1.89 billion.

The province welcomed 2.9 million tourists, a 2.2-fold increase against last year.
