Hai Phong posts GRDP growth of 9.77% in 9M

Northern Hai Phong city posted a GRDP growth of 9.77% year-on-year in the first three quarters of the year, topping the country’s five centrally-run cities, according to the port city’s People’s Committee.

The city ranks eight among the country’s 63 provinces and cities and the second in the Red River Delta, in terms of GRDP growth, as a result.

The city targets a 2024 GRDP growth of 11.5-12% year-on-year.

In the nine-month period, the city’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 14.09% compared to the same period last year.

It attracted $1.78 billion of FDI, achieving 89% of the annual target.

As of September 30, the city disbursed over VND8.88 trillion ($354 million) of public investment capital, equal to 52% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.
