Businesses across Hanoi required over 87,000 workers in January, with many jobs offering salaries of up to VND20 million (approximately $785).
According to the January 2025 labor market report by the Hanoi Employment Service Center, businesses typically intensify their recruitment efforts in the early months of the year, particularly after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, to swiftly stabilize workforce for production and business.
The surge in recruitment is especially pronounced in the services, retail, and manufacturing industries.
The report indicated that the number of newly established and re-operational businesses in Hanoi is on the rise, positively impacting the labor market.
A survey conducted by the Center, which gathered information on 3,752 job vacancies from 1,059 businesses, revealed that recruitment demand is concentrated in industry groups such as wholesale, retail, and other service activities, accounting for 57.25% (an increase of 2.1 percentage points compared to the previous month). The manufacturing and construction sectors also saw a rise in demand, accounting for 20.80% (an increase of 2.94 percentage points compared to the previous month).
