Hanoi has set targets of generating 120,000 new jobs in 2024 and reducing the unemployment rate in urban areas to less than 4 per cent, according to the municipal Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The capital generated 15,500 jobs in January, up 12.6 per cent compared to January last year.

Vocational training establishments plan to provide training to 235,000 people, increasing the rate of trained workers to 74.2 per cent.

In order to fulfill the targets, the Department will boost the organization of vocational training for workers and hold job fairs to link employees and employers, according to Department Director Nguyen Tay Nam.

The capital will also allocate funds to provide loans to the poor and disadvantaged groups for job generation.

Another solution is to promote, modernize, and increase the efficiency of job transaction floors in districts and communes.
