Hanoi to survey workers’ wages and living conditions

Nhật Dương -

Survey to be used as basis to propose minimum wage increases.

The Hanoi Labor Federation will carry out a survey on the labor situation and the salaries, incomes, spending, and living conditions of workers in 2023.

The survey results will be submitted to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as part of preparations for plans to increase regional minimum wages for 2024.

It will focus on the situation facing the workforce, employment, and wages and incomes of workers at enterprises in the city; spending and living conditions of employees at enterprises; and adjustments to the regional minimum wage in 2023 and the effects of adjustments to the regional minimum wage.

In February, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs asked cities and provinces to review the implementation of regional minimum wages at enterprises that applied from July 1, 2022. The review will be used to study and propose government measures regarding adjustments to regional minimum wages next year under the Labor Code.
