The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued a plan to develop e-commerce in 2023 that encourages and helps both businesses and consumers conduct e-commerce transactions.
Under the plan, measures will be taken to promote e-commerce activities, online shopping, and cashless payments.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the city will receive support to boost digital transformation to help improve the efficiency, capacity, and competitiveness of their production and trade.
The People’s Committee said the plan targets improving the efficiency of State management over e-commerce, facilitating e-commerce development by businesses, developing e-commerce transactions in the community, and boosting the quality of human resources for the sector.
Ho Chi Minh City has a robust e-commerce landscape, with the number of online traders accounting for 47.7 per cent of the country’s total.
