Northern Hoa Binh province plans to upgrade its ten existing urban areas and build three more to bring its total to 13 by 2025, with estimated investment capital of over VND138 trillion ($5.75 billion).
Under its urban development program to 2025 with a vision to 2030, which has been released by the Hoa Binh Provincial People’s Committee, the number of urban areas is to rise to 16 by 2030, with three more to be built after 2025.
The plan is aimed at increasing the urbanization rate in the province to 38 per cent by 2025 and 43 per cent by 2030.
The Provincial People’s Committee has set out tasks for each urban area and the implementation of groups of solutions proposed in the urban development program, focusing on capital and investment attraction and policy, and urban development in adapting to climate change and natural disasters.
The investment capital is expected to be mobilized from the State budget, ODA, the local budget, and other legal sources of investment.
